An inquiry into South Staffordshire Council’s order for the Crooked House to be rebuilt has been postponed.
The famous wonky pub in Himley was demolished last August, two days after a suspected arson attack.
In February, South Staffordshire Council served an enforcement notice which said the 18th century building must be ‘built back to what it was prior to the fire’.
The pub’s owners, ATE Farms Ltd, appealed the notice and have won the right for an inquiry to be postponed from this summer until next spring.
The Planning Inspectorate said it recognised that it would be preferable to deal with the appeal after any potential separate court action relating to the fire.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the fire, which police are treating as arson. All have been released on conditional bail.
