Boston Borough Council is looking to provide four homes for Afghan refugees as part of a £1m project.
The scheme would see the council receive approximately £470,000 as part of the Local Authority Housing Fund, a national programme which helps councils provide housing for Ukrainian and Afghan families.
Boston council said the four properties could be used as temporary accommodation for homeless families in the future.
The project would include one additional home to support local need more generally.
An estimated total project cost of more than £1m means the council would need to contribute a maximum of £685,000 in addition to government funding.
The council said it would plan to deliver the homes by March 2024. Its cabinet will meet today (2 August) to consider the proposal.
