Plans to move from a cabinet to a committee system have been unveiled by Worcester City Council.
The move would see the creation of three policy committees including policy and resources, communities and environment.
The council said the change will give all parties greater say in the council’s priorities as each committee would include members of all three parties. Under the proposals, the council would continue to have a leader.
Tim O’Gara, the council’s monitoring officer, said: ‘The move to a committee system will be a major change for the City Council, affecting every aspect of how vital decisions are made on the excellent services that residents expect from us.’
The council will consider the proposals on 21 February, with the new system due to come into play in May.
