A huge firework display being planned in Yorkshire could end up being shown on TV in China.
The Chinese city of Changsha has offered £200,000 to York for the proposed £300,000 show if the city stumps up the remaining cash.
The city council is carrying out a feasibility study for the project.
Both York and Changsha are UNESCO Cities of Media Arts and the Chinese city is famous for producing fireworks.
City councillor Nigel Ayre is reported saying the event could attract investors and tourists to York and it was a great opportunity that would be 'nationally and internationally significant.'
