Ballot papers in Wales will now be written in both Welsh and English from this year's local council elections.
Until now while the voting instructions have been written in both languages, the election details at the top were only printed in English.
Minister for the constitution, Chris Skidmore, said the changes would end the current inconsistency and improve clarity for voters.
'Making the voting experience consistent and fair is vital if we are to have a democracy that works for everyone,' he said. 'That is why these changes were important to make and will improve the clarity of the ballot papers used by voters across Wales.'
The new ballot forms will be used from May's local authority and community council election in Wales.
