A city council is attempting to recruit a new Hornblower in order to continue a 1,200-year-old tradition.
Ripon City Council is advertising for a new member of its Hornblower Team to work three nights a week.
The role will involve sounding the horn at 9:00pm on an agreed number of evenings per week in the market square and then providing onlookers with a brief history.
The Ripon horn blowing tradition reportedly goes back to AD886 and is one of the oldest ceremonies in England.
