Advantage West Midlands has given a £100,000 in funding support to the Business Development Network to provide help, advice and funding to new business start-ups as well as to existing businesses located across the Stone Market Town Initiative (SMTI) area.
The project is supported by Stafford Borough Council (SBC) working in partnership with Business Link and Mark Abrams, partnership director for Staffordshire at Advantage West Midlands, said: “Small businesses are vital to the success of a diverse and dynamic economy and the Business Development Network in Stone will ensure that both existing businesses and local entrepreneurs starting up have the best possible advice.”
Mary Timmis, the economic development officer with Stafford Borough Council, said: “We are absolutely delighted that we have now secured project funding. We have received £77,000 from Advantage West Midlands and together with an additional £22,000 from SBC, we are confident the project will really make a difference to businesses throughout the SMTI area.”
