Coastal and fishing communities are set to share £40m in new funding to help create new jobs and boost local economies.
Communities secretary Sajid Javid said the latest round of investment would also help drive up coastal tourism, which is already worth £8bn a year to the economy.
The money will be shared by 30 projects including improvements to the White Rock area of Hastings, a new history centre in Plymouth and the regeneration of Lowestoft Ness.
Mr Javid said: ‘There’s a range of exciting projects set to benefit across the country, from a new conference centre for Blackpool to new beach huts and lifeguards for Hastings.
This new funding will help attract even more tourists to our coast and help our seaside towns and coastal areas thrive.’
