We are ambitious to take our Policy and Scrutiny up there with the real high flyers. So we’ve brought them together to create a dynamic, flexible service focused on driving Hounslow’s high ambitions and improving residents’ quality of life.
We need two people with creativity, political acumen and strategic vision, one to lead the team and one to be a key player in delivery, in a council which is changing and improving fast.
You will help drive and deliver our ambitions. The team will work collaboratively with both Cabinet and Scrutiny members, colleagues and partners, delivering constructive challenge and innovative, high quality, strategic solutions.
You might be reviewing parking notices one day and helping develop aviation policy the next. Flexibility, ability to research and develop evidence-based proposals and an inclusive working style are vital for both roles.
The Head of Policy and Scrutiny will also need to be able to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team, building a strong reputation for transformational change.
You will need the political sensitivity to earn the trust of Cabinet and Scrutiny members alike, balancing sometimes competing views and understanding and supporting both roles.
