Head of Children’s Social Care
26 October 2012
More available for exceptional candidate.
Blackpool Council is looking forward with confidence, and is keen to ensure that its children’s services offer the best possible support to our vulnerable children. With a new Director of Children’s Services in place, and the full backing of elected politicians, Blackpool is determined to improve its front line practice and establish a new direction for the service based on Munro principles.
Our new Head of Children’s Social Care will report directly to the DCS, and will be responsible for a wide array of crucial services including safeguarding, children’s homes, corporate parenting, fostering and adoption, learning disabilities for looked after children, the emergency duty team, and the assessment and fieldwork social work teams. You will of course be a qualified Social Worker, but your ability to work corporately, collaborate with colleagues, develop staff, and work closely with your teams to establish best practice will be key to your success here.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a new start at Blackpool – and could also give you the chance to boost your career to the next level.
