  • Description
The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) is an executive non-departmental public body that oversees the youth justice system in England and Wales. It works to prevent offending and reoffending by children and young people, to protect the public and support victims and to promote the safety and welfare of children in the criminal justice system.

Tackling youth crime and achieving a rehabilitation revolution are amongst the Government’s highest priorities. The new Chief Executive will lead the drive to achieve the YJB’s objectives with a strong focus on reducing reoffending. This is a high-profile role, working with a complex range of stakeholders in a challenging area of activity. With the Chair, you will be the public face of the YJB, championing your vision to secure real progress across youth justice services.

To succeed in post, you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of leadership to bring about significant service improvement. Experience of risk management will be essential, as will be resilience and the ability to engage with and influence across local and central government.
