Director of Education, Culture & Sport
Aberdeen City Council
£107,148 – £109,827
27 July 2012
Aberdeen is one of Europe’s most thriving cities. Its dynamic economy, underpinned by North Sea oil, has long been recognised as providing its citizens with the highest quality of life in Scotland. We are seeking a highly experienced senior manager with proven leadership qualities and a track record in delivering change in an innovative and sustained way.
The Education, Culture and Sport service has already begun a fast paced programme of change and improvement. We are looking for a Director who can build on this success, keep up momentum and continue to develop the service in a creative way. Key priorities include real curriculum transformation in schools leading to improved achievement and attainment alongside the review of our school estate and the development of our innovative City Campus project.
Creativity and integration are at the heart of the very ambitious vision that we have set for education, culture and sport.
The City is committed to competing for City of Culture and you will play the lead role in putting Aberdeen on the map for learning, cultural diversity and active lives.
People in Aberdeen and their Council have very ambitious plans for the future. We want to recruit a Director who has proven they have the skills to lead this work. Above all we are looking for someone who will put children, families and communities at the heart of what they do and can deliver improved, person centred services, culture and sport.
