Two more local authorities have signed up to Tri-borough's capitalEsourcing system.
Havering and Newham Councils will join Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham in adopting the online procurement system.
CapitalEsourcing makes the procurement process more efficient as it allows tendering to be automated, cutting out a large amount of administration and paper work. It also provides buyers one place to manage procurements, award contracts and monitor supplier performance.
Anthony Oliver, Westminster City Council’s chief procurement officer: 'CapitalEsourcing has been developed by local government for local government. It standardises and simplifies the way we do business, providing efficiencies for both councils and their suppliers.
'The fact that Newham and Havering Councils have now signed up is testament to the benefits capitalEsourcing has already provided for the Tri-borough councils – and we believe other authorities will soon come on board too.'
