Construction industry bosses are in 'bouyant' mood as the UK embarks on some of the biggest infrastructure projects in a generation, according to a new survey.
The Infrastructure Outlook Report, based on research by Ipsos Mori and commissioned by construction company Tarmac, found two thirds of respondents were confident about the UK’s overall infrastructure outlook over the next 12 months.
However, two thirds said not enough was being done to meet the UK’s infrastructure requirements.
Big new projects include HS2 and a nationwide £15bn road building programme.
Tarmac chief executive Cyrille Ragoucy said: 'It’s great to see that the construction industry is in a confident mood, but there is no room for complacency.
'Challenges remain in meeting the UK’s infrastructure requirements and there is concern about the delivery in the years ahead.'
