Harrow Council has signed a £37m deal with a new supplier to upgrade its IT systems.
The five-year contract will see Sopra Steria take responsibility for the council’s day-to-day IT services, as well as delivering improved digital services and new technologies.
Cllr Graham Henson, the council’s portfolio holder for performance, corporate resources and policy development, said: ‘This contract represents good value for residents, staff and the young people who will benefit from more apprenticeship places plus a commitment to pay the London Living wage.’
The new contract is 20% cheaper than the current contract and will commence 1 November 2015.
