Sandwell Council has paid tribute to its employee Adrian Evans who was killed in Friday's terrorist attack at a Tunisian beach.
A total of 38 people were killed near Sousse, Tunisia, by a gunman with links to Islamic State. The British death toll from the attack is expected to rise above 30.
Adrian Evans, 44, from Tipton in the West Midlands was a manager of Sandwell Council's gas services team. His father Patrick Evans, 78, and nephew Joel Richards, 19, were also killed in the attack.
Cllr Darren Cooper, leader of Sandwell Council said: 'We are very sad to hear that one of our employees has been killed in the terrorist attack in Tunisia.
'Adrian Evans was a very popular and long-serving employee, who was manager of our gas services team.
'We are absolutely devastated for Adrian's family, friends and colleagues and our thoughts are with them and all those affected by this tragedy.'
A colleague of Evans, Mahoob Hussain, told the BBC: 'I had a number of phone calls from the staff who worked for him, crying because it was his first day on holiday.
'My understanding is it was his first day - and suddenly the next thing the colleagues found out what happened in Tunisia and they were all in tears.'
