Peterborough Council has launched a petition to decide if disgraced MP Fiona Onasanya will be allowed to keep her parliamentary seat.
Ms Onasanya was sentenced to three months in prison for perverting the course of justice after lying about a speeding offence.
The council has now invited registered electors to sign the recall petition, which will be funded by the Government at a cost of £500,000.
MsOnasanya will lose her seat and a by-election will be triggered if 10% of the electorate sign the petition.
