A new IT system to map the work being done with over 1,000 vulnerable children in York has been launched by the council.
City of York Council has implemented the new MOSAIC system to allow social workers to work more efficiently.
The system will enable staff to focus more on outcomes, while young people and their families can also access a secure online portal to help plan and review services.
Eoin Rush, assistant director of children’s specialist services at the council, said: ‘MOSAIC represents a significant financial investment in children’s services which is driven by our commitment to ensure that all our systems and processes support effective practice, and help to achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people and their families.’
MOSAIC will merge a number of databases and provide faster payments to foster carers and other providers.
