A local authority is providing care to seven people following a police investigation into allegations of modern slavery.
Lincolnshire Police together with neighbouring forces and the National Crime Agency arrested seven people at five locations around Lincoln and two other areas on Monday.
As a result of the operation, Lincolnshire County Council’s adult care teams and NHS staff are looking after seven people.
Lincolnshire Police said: ‘They are now in the process of being seen by medical professionals for health assessments.
‘The primary aim of this part of the operation is to safeguard these people and to consider their needs and potential requirements for welfare and support, along with the needs of their families and the communities involved. When appropriate they will then be interviewed by Lincolnshire Police officers as witnesses.’
